Frequently Asked Questions

We get a lot of the same questions, especially from people buying bamboo sheets for the first time, so we've put the answers here. If yours isn't on the list, email us at bedandbutterph@gmail.com or message us on Facebook.

What is bamboo lyocell?

It's a fabric made from bamboo pulp. The pulp is dissolved and spun into thread, and the solvent used to do that is recovered and reused instead of thrown out. The result feels a lot like silk: smooth, cool, with a nice drape. Every ITO bed sheet is made from it. (Curious why we chose bamboo in the first place? Our founder tells the story on our Why Bamboo page.)

How are bamboo sheets different from cotton?

The first thing most people notice is the feel. Bamboo lyocell is smoother and cooler than most cotton, closer to silk than to a crisp hotel sheet. It also breathes well and doesn't stay damp. Cotton has its pluses: it costs less and you'll find it everywhere. But if you run hot at night, bamboo is worth a try.

Are bamboo sheets good for our hot weather?

That's the reason ITO exists. Bamboo lyocell lets air through and pulls moisture away from your skin, so you don't get that sticky, clammy feeling on humid nights. We made our first sets with Manila nights in mind.

How do I wash them?

Gently. Use cold or lukewarm water, a mild detergent and the delicate cycle, and skip the bleach and fabric softener. Hang them to dry in the shade, or tumble-dry on low. The good news: they get softer every time you wash them.

What sizes do you have?

Twin, Full, Queen, King and California King. Our Size Guide has the exact measurements in inches.

How do I know which size to get?

Grab a tape measure and check three things on your mattress: width, length and depth. Then compare them with our Size Guide. Depth is the one people forget. Our Basic Set fitted sheet has a 16-inch pocket, and we also make a 10-inch version for thinner mattresses. Still not sure? Send us your measurements and we'll tell you which one fits. [CONFIRM WHICH SETS HAVE WHICH POCKET DEPTH]

What's the difference between the Sheet Set and the Basic Set?

The Basic Set is a fitted sheet and two pillowcases, which is all a lot of people need. The full Sheet Set adds [CONFIRM CONTENTS, e.g. a flat sheet].

How much is shipping, and when will my order arrive?

Shipping is free if your order is ₱2,500 or more, and ₱200 if it's less. Most orders arrive 3 to 5 days after we confirm your payment. We ship Monday to Saturday through Grab and LBC. Our cut-off is 2 pm, and we don't ship on Sundays or holidays.

Can I return or exchange something?

Yes. You have 15 days from purchase, as long as the item is unopened, unwashed and still has its tags. The only thing we can't take back is bamboo socks. If anything arrives damaged or faulty, we'll refund you in full. The fine print is on our Shipping and Returns page.

How can I pay?

GCash, Maya, credit card or bank transfer, whichever is easiest for you.

Do you ship outside the Philippines?

We do, just not through the website. Email us at bedandbutterph@gmail.com with your country and city, and we'll send you a shipping quote.
